Children’s Therapeutic Services and Supports (CTSS)

TreatingThem as People

We regard children as their own entities. We believe they, like every person in the world, have the right to be free from any form of discrimination. This is why we help them get the skills they need to live in a way that encourages independent thought, effective communication, and better self-esteem.

What is CTSS?

Children’s Therapeutic Services and Supports is a versatile package of mental health services that provides children with different therapeutic and rehabilitative levels of intervention. It addresses the conditions of emotional disturbance that impair and interfere with children’s ability to function on their own. For those with emotional disturbances, rehabilitation means that we provide services that can help restore them to a level of functioning that they had before or would have had if their development had not been impaired by a mental health disorder. CTSS services must be done immediately. These services are delivered using different treatment modalities and combinations of services intended to reach measurable treatment outcomes.

Who is eligible for CTSS?

Recipients must be:

  • Children under the age of 18 who are diagnosed with an Emotional Disturbance (ED) or Severe Emotional Disturbance (SED)
  • Young adults aged 18 through 20 who are diagnosed with a Mental Illness (MI) or Serious or Persistent Mental Illness (SPMI)
